Arlington Row, Bibury, Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, c1955-c1980. Street view of Arlington Row and the beginning of Awkward Hill, directly west, showing cottages on the left hand side and Mill Stream on the right. The image shows the row of late 14th century cottages known as Arlington Row, looking west up the street. The cottages were originally wool stores and converted in the late 17th century to weavers' cottages, and later restored by the National Trust, which now owns the site, in the 1970s. The lower numbers are in the foreground, and ascend in the terrace to number 9. Numbers 10 and 11 are in the background of the image, and are on Awkward Hill, perpendicular to Arlington Row. In the foreground is Mill Stream, which joins the River Coln east of the terrace.
