Légende
Bishop's Mill, County Durham, c1955-c1980. An exterior view of Bishop's Mill, seen from the west bank of the River Wear and showing the west elevation, and the weir spanning the river. The watermill likely dates to the medieval period, as it was mentioned in c1183 in Boldon Buke, a survey of the Durham area, where it is likely to have been used for corm milling. Durham had several mills installed, many of which were run by overlords and hired the lord's tenants. Bishop's Mill was demolished c2013, at the same time as the neighbouring ice rink, and has been replaced by an area of shops and offices.
