Légende
Saint Michael Triumphs over the Devil, 1468, (1946). The saint, in golden armour and holding a crystal shield, swings his sword above Satan, as the painting's patron, Antoni Joan, lord of Tous, kneels with a psalter. Painting, (possibly the central panel of an altarpiece which was formerly in the church of San Miguel in Tous, near Valencia), now in the National Gallery in London. From "Spanish Painting" by Philip Hendy. [Avalon Press & Central Institute of Art and Design, London, 1946]
