'Fort and Palace, Amber'. Amber Fort, near Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The Amber Fort is a fortress palace built by Raja Man Singh, commander of the Mughal Emperor Akbar's army, from 1592. One of the finest examples of Rajput architecture, the fort was extended by the Jai Singhs before they moved their capital to the city of Jaipur in 1728. Postcard.
