'"The corpulent Chanticleer," from the ace of hearts', 1910. Transformation playing card with the heart forming the body of Chanticleer, the rooster from the "Reynard The Fox" fables. Creating playing card 'Squiggles', or 'Squiggling', in which the pips of the non-face cards were incorporated into an artistic design, was popular in the 19th century.
