Légende
'Boadicea', mid-late 19th century. Boudicca encourages her warriors from a chariot with blades on the wheels. The Roman army is gathered near a stone circle in the distance. Boudicca (c25-62 AD), queen of the British Celtic Iceni tribe, led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in 60 or 61 AD. She died shortly after its failure, having supposedly poisoned herself. She is considered a British folk heroine. From "Cassell's Illustrated History of England". [Cassell, Petter & Galpin, 1873]
