Lieutenant Norman Baillie-Stewart, 1933. 'The Prisoner in the Tower'. British army officer Lt Norman Baillie-Stewart (1909-1966) of the Seaforth Highlanders was known as The Officer in the Tower during his imprisonment in the Tower of London - the last British subject held there as a prisoner. An active sympathiser of Nazi Germany, he had agreed to spy for Germany and took part in German-produced propaganda broadcasts. Baillie-Stewart was court-martialled at Chelsea Barracks under the Official Secrets Act for selling military secrets to a foreign power. He was found guilty of seven out of ten charges and imprisoned for five years. From "The Pageant of the Century". [Odhams Press Ltd, 1933]
