Légende
Judas before the Sanhedrin, 1922. The traitor Judas (Guido Mayr) is tried before an assembly of rabbis: players in the Oberammergau Passion Play. The play is performed every 10 years, on open-air stages, by the inhabitants of the village of Oberammergau in Bavaria, Germany. First staged in 1634, the play tells the story of Jesus' passion, culminating in his crucifixion. The event has become a tourist attraction, with audiences coming from all over the world. Official postcard of the 1922 Oberammergau Passion Play. [F. Bruckmann, Munich, Germany, 1922]
