Knights and Ladies Seated under Canopies, pierced ivory panel, mid-late 14th century, (1881). Etching of carved ivory detail from a casket, made c1350-1400 in Paris, showing figures, each seated under an elaborate architectural canopy or gateway. The two central figures are a lady holding a small dog, and a knight with with a falcon on his left wrist.
