'Details of Staircase Decoration', c1870s, (1881). Etching of tiles on the West Staircase, 'leading to the Ceramic Gallery', in the South Kensington Museum in London. The staircase is decorated with Frank Moody's ceramic tile mosaic pavement, and majolica panels on the walls. The Della Robbia ware, a modern version of a Renaissance technique, was produced by the English ceramic company Minton, Hollins & Co. 'The two larger panels are in Mr Colin Minton's vitrified ceramic painting'. From "The South Kensington Museum", a book of engraved illustrations, with descriptions, of the works of art in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum (formerly known as the South Kensington Museum).
