Christ Child, c. 1490-1500. This sculpture is an enlarged version of Desiderio da Settignano's figure of about 1460 at the top of his tabernacle in the Church of San Lorenzo in Florence. There are many replicas of Desiderio's work. This example is an especially fine one, undoubtedly intended for the interior of a church.
