Légende
Head of a King, c. 1069-715 BC. This head was the first Egyptian royal sculpture to enter the museum. Although regal in appearance, the rather generalized facial features are not indicative of any specific ruler. It appears to be a work of the Third Intermediate Period, when artists drew inspiration from the elegant, idealizing style of the 18th Dynasty.
