Man's Nightcap, late 1500s. Densely embroidered with silver thread, this luxurious man?s nightcap is decorated with rich scrolling vines bearing stylized flowers and leaves. The crown is cut in quarters but is still in one piece; the seams are concealed with plaited braid work. The turned-up brim is decorated with silver bobbin lace edging and spangles.
