Cadets, in the New Appointments, 1844. Soldiers at the Royal Military Academy in Wooolwich, south-east London: 'Gentleman Cadets, in full military costume...each Cadet armed with a beautiful and highly finished carbine, weighing less by two pounds and a half those now in progress of supply to the Royal Regiment of Artillery. These miniature muskets are equal, in appearance and careful construction, to the most expensive fowling-piece'. From "Illustrated London News", 1844, Vol I.
