The Mace, 1844. Ceremonial mace of the Lord Mayor of the City of London. 'The mace represents the delegated power of the Crown, which he holds as her Majesty's representative;...it measures five feet three inches; it is formed of silver gilt, and is embellished by a crown and regal emblems.
