King William II of the Netherlands, 1845. 'Sketch from the Grand Review in Hyde Park [in London]...His Majesty the King of the Netherlands and a numerous suite of general officers reviewed the household troops and some other regiments...the King...was on horseback, and attired in the uniform of a Field Marshal of the British army...As his Majesty entered the gates of the park, the Artillery fired a Royal salute of 21 guns, and on the King appearing before the troops, the bands ot all the regiments played the Dutch national air, "Wilhelm Van Nassau", and, afterwards, " God save the Queen". The firing was most precise as regarded time, and we understand that his Majesty expressed his admiration of the beautiful and noble appearance of all the regiments on the ground...As the King left the park another Royal salute was fired by the Artillery'.
