Manolas, 1845. Spanish women in traditional dress, Madrid, Spain. 'The manolas (grisettes) display another variety in their kerchiefed heads, and the shawl, corresponding, if we mistake not, with the mantillas. They are, however, rarely seen in the Prado'.
