The photograph shows the middle section of the north retaining wall which incorporated the erection of the transformer room for the Cathedral. In the left foreground the completed Guild Chapel section adjoining the boiler house, of which the suspended floor is under final preparations prior to the laying of concrete. It also shows the heavy reinforcement for this suspended floor slab, the adjoining section of the boiler house, the choir practice room and robing rooms. The middle ground shows the construction of the east and west hallowing walls, the central duct and main beam.
