York Minster, Minster Yard, York, 1942. An interior view of the choir ceiling in York Minster, also known as St Peter's Cathedral Church. The choir has a lierne vaulted ceiling; also known as a stellar vault, due to the star shapes the ribs form. The ribs are wooden and were installed by Sir Robert Smirke between 1829 and 1932.
