Wall with Archway in front of No. 9, The College, County Durham, 1942. An exterior view of St Mary's College, now known as the Chorister School, seen from the north through an archway. The former prebendal house, now a school, has medieval fabric with alterations made in the 17th and 18th centuries. The main house has three storeys and five windows with towers at each corner. The parapet is embattled. At the rear of the building is the short arm of the L-shaped plan. The arch in the foreground is part of a garden wall with medieval, 17th and 18th century material. The wall may have formerly been part of a building.
