Foliage with scenes from the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine: 'Le Villageois et le Serpent', villager attacking a snake with an axe; 'Le Chêne et le Roseau', an oak tree representing the French king Louis XIV, and a reed which represent the people of France; 'Le Savetier et le Financier'; The Cobbler and the Financier. Designed by Alexandre Buquet after Jean Michel Moreau, the Younger, manufactured by Bapaume et Cocatrix.
