Goodwyn Hall, Mill Hill, Barnet, London, 21/10/1961. Members of the Dramatic Section of the Laing Sports Club on stage at Goodwyn Hall, performing their take on the play 'Johnny Belinda' by Elmer Harris. The Sports Club Dramatic Section performed the play 'Johnny Belinda' on the 19th, 20th and 21st October 1961 at Goodwyn Hall, Mill Hill. The play is set in the extreme north of Canada and tells the story of a young girl who is deaf. At the door donations raised a total of £8 and 10s for the Royal Association in Aid of the Deaf and Dumb. This image was published in December 1961 in Laing's monthly newsletter 'Team Spirit'. Cast members in the image from left to right are: Valerie Werhle, Sylvia Brereton, Mike Gotch, Kathy Shuttleworth, Dick Murphy, Stuart Jameson, David Morgan, Joyce Moores, Jimmy Brownlee, Norma Young, Jack Hudson and Mair Davies.
