Women competing in a flower pot race, with spectators behind a rope fence, at the annual Laing sports day held at the Laing Sports Ground at Elstree. In 1965 Laing's annual sports day was held at the sports ground on Rowley Lane on 26th June. As well as football and athletics, there were novelty events including the sack race and Donkey Derby, and events for children including go-kart races, fancy dress competitions, and pony rides.
