A500, City of Stoke-on-Trent, 26/07/1972. A stretch of the Potteries D Road on the A500 passing through an industrial landscape near Stoke-on-Trent. This photograph is part of a batch showing work carried out by Laing's Highways Branch during the construction of part of the Potteries D Road or Stoke D Road on the A500. A 6.5km stretch of dual carriageway running from near Talke to Etruria in Stoke-on-Trent was constructed by the company, with work starting in October 1970.
