Légende
The late Count Brandenburgh, 1850. Portrait of Prussian politician Friedrich Wilhelm, Count Brandenburg, morganatic son of King Frederick William II and Sophie von Dönhoff. After receiving a military education he was promoted to General in command of the 8th army corps in 1848. '...[at] the Congress of Warsaw...Count Brandenburgh represented Prussia. The excitement of politics, the toil of attending all the fetes and banquets of the Court of Warsaw, and discharging all the business of his mission at the same time, was too much for his physical powers...Count Brandenburgh, on returning home, was seized with illness, became delirious, and lingered in this state till the morning of the 6th [November], when he expired. He leaves a family of eight children'. From "Illustrated London News", 1850.
