Ghelendjik Bay, Coast of Circassia, 1854. Crimean War: town on the Black Sea. 'Sketch by Lieut. Montagu O'Reilly, H.M.S. Retribution [showing] the Bay of Ghelendik, with the town and distant mountains...This place was evacuated by the Russians - destroyed and blown up by them - on the 13th of May last'.
