Légende
Statue of the poet Wordsworth, just placed in Westminster Abbey, 1854. 'Shortly after the death of the venerable poet-laureate, Wordsworth, in 1850, a subscription was commenced for the placing of his statue in Westminster Abbey - a fit location for the memorial of one whose poetic vocation lay in "the paths of peace," and in commemorating the simplicity of beautiful nature. The Statue has been ably executed in marble by Mr. Thrupp: it represents the thoughtful poet seated; the only accessories being the simple flowers of which he loved to sing. The Statue stands in the Baptistery of the Abbey Church'. From "Illustrated London News", 1854.
