On the house opposite is a sign advertising accommodation with C Main at Lily Cottage. In the negative index for the collection, the photographer refers to the subject of the photograph as Lily Cottage, although it is not shown. The building shown subsequently became the Lion Rock Tea Rooms and Lily Cottage is just out of view to its left.
