Aladdin, Los Angeles, 1938. 'Now "Aladdin" - A Fabulous Fantasy - A Tuneful Colorful Extravaganza - Cast of 110 Artists - Mayan [Theatre], Hill St. at 11th'. The Federal Theatre Project, created by the US Works Progress Administration in 1935, was designed to conserve and develop the skills of theatre workers, re-employ them on public relief, and to bring theatre to thousands in the United States who had never before seen live theatrical performances.
