'Our front-page Illustration, from a sketch by Mr. Melton Prior, the Special Artist sent to America expressly for the Centennial Exhibition, shows the motley gathering of people of different nationalities, Mexicans and South Americans, Chinese and other Asiatics, with Europeans and Yankees, among the crowd of spectators in the British Department'.
