View of Mariana's Oord, taken from the Dome House of the Assistant Resident in Pontianak, 1800-1900. The Dutch settlement of Mariana's or Marianne's Oord (place) in Pontianak, West Borneo. Flat landscape under large cloudy sky, Dutch flags, bridge, boats, jetties on the left. The trading port of Pontianak was incorporated into the Dutch East Indies. It was the seat of the Residentie Westerafdeeling van Borneo, one of the residencies of the Dutch East Indies.
