British military fighting in Italy, as part of a '...battalion composed of North Italians and Palermitans...under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Dunne and several other English officers...Major Percy Windham, cousin of General Windham, and son of Colonel Windham, has served five years in the French marine, and eight years in the Austrian army. He greatly distinguished himself at the battle of Melazzo, especially in storming, at the head of a few of his regiment, a walled vineyard filled with Neapolitan riflemen'.
