Plan of the proposed Thames Embankment, [London], 1861. Map showing '...plans for embanking the River Thames within the metropolis, so as to provide with the greatest efficiency and economy for the relief of the most crowded streets, by the establishment of a new and spacious thoroughfare, for the improvement of the navigation of the river, and which will afford an opportunity of making the low-level sewer without disturbing the Strand or Fleet-street, and also to report upon the cost and means of carrying the same into execution'.
