Arrival of goods at the International Exhibition Building: a scene in Cromwell-Road, [South Kensington, London], 1862. '...a pictorial representation of...the Cromwell-road front of the exhibition building, as it appeared crowded with every kind of vehicle for the conveyance of goods from Pickford's heavy vans down to the lightest of taxed carts, and even of trucks. Much, if not all, of the bustle outside the building which was apparent at the time our sketch was taken, has now subsided; and it may be said that all the goods have been brought within the structure, with the exception of the machinery; for at the western annexe, where it is to be deposited, arrivals continued long after the delivery at the other entrances had practically ceased'.
