The Prince of Wales' Visit to Egypt: a portion of the Royal Party leaving the encampment at Djizeh for the Pyramids, 1862. The future King Edward VII in Africa. 'The expedition left Cairo on March 4 and went to Djizeh, thence to the Pyramids on dromedaries provided by his Highness the Viceroy [Said Pacha], who took leave of the Prince at the Palace of Djizeh. The Prince and suite remained one night at the Pyramids and returned the following day'. From "Illustrated London News", 1862.
