The International Exhibition: view of the Picture-Gallery, looking east, 1862. '...the view...embraces the returned walls of the eastern tower, and, through the arched entrance, the loftier square saloon beneath that tower'. The International Exhibition was a world's fair held from 1 May to 1 November 1862 in South Kensington, London. The site now houses museums including the Natural History Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Science Museum. From "Illustrated London News", 1862.
