Sketches from Mexico: Banuelos José de Jesús, the famous Mexican brigand chief, 1864. Engraving from a sketch by M. Beaucé, '...a portrait of Banuelos José de Jesús, for many years one of the scourges of the country, and a veritable type of the Mexican brigand chiefs. He was forty years of age, and on his trial was accused of assassination, pillage, and arson. He was found guilty on all these serious counts. Arrested on Wednesday, the 14th of October, and tried on the 16th, he was shot at Puebla on the 17th of the same month, at eight o'clock in the morning'. From "Illustrated London News", 1864.
