Légende
Marble bust of the late Field Marshal Lord Seaton, by G. G. Adams, 1864. 'The bust, which is executed in the finest Carrara marble, has been presented...to the United Service Clubhouse...Persons who may have never seen Lord Seaton will, by a glance at our Engraving, perceive that a much finer subject for modelling is seldom afforded the sculptor. The contours of the head are regular, the facial angle remarkably small, the features well proportioned, yet strikingly characteristic and manly. In simple justice to Mr. G. G. Adams, the sculptor, we must say that we think this the best bust we have seen from his hand, and the more creditable to him as a posthumous work. It has evidently been carved, down to the minutest detail, with more than ordinary care'. From "Illustrated London News", 1864.
