The War in Denmark: fortifications of Fredericia - the Oldenburg Bastion, 1864. Engraving from a sketch '...by our Special Artist, lately with the allied Prussian and Austrian armies in Schleswig. He visited Fredericia, in Jutland, soon after it was abandoned by the Danish garrison. The fortifications of that town...are now being rapidly demolished; a number of the Danish inhabitants being compelled by their stern conquerors to take part in this work. The Engraving gives a view of the Oldenburg Bastion, which overlooks the waters of the Little Belt, on the north-east side of the town. A piece of the coast of the island of Funen is seen beyond'.
