'To redeem himself, [the hero] takes ship for Europe, and Presto!, he's up to his eyes in the mud in Flanders. There just a private, he learns something of the heartaches, the hardship and the companionship of war as experienced by the fighting men'. British drama "Poppies of Flanders" (1927) was directed by Arthur Maude and starred Jameson Thomas, Eve Gray, Gibb McLaughlin and Henry Vibart.
