Légende

Upper Richmond Road, Putney, Wandsworth, Greater London Authority, 1897. Marshall's livery stables and Thompson's confectionery shop on Upper Richmond Road. The label notes read: "MARSHALL'S LIVERY STABLES, UPPER RICHMOND ROAD, 1897, Bank stands on the site." This photograph was taken looking south west from Upper Richmond Road close to the junction of Putney High Street. All the the buildings seen here have since been demolished, except the Fox and Hounds public house, whose quoin stone are glimpsed to the very left of this view. The advertisments for the Wimbledon and Putney Post, outside Thompson's shop include a headline relating to the death of Baron Pollock. Charles Edward Pollock was a judge and one of the last Barons of the Court of the Exchequer who died at his home, The Croft in Putney, on the 21st of November 1897.
