Mosaic depicting Saint Andronicus of Cilicia, Church of the Holy Saviour in Chora, Istanbul, Turkey, Byzantine style, 14th century. Andronicus was a martyr of the Diocletian persecution, c304 AD. The mosaic work, carried out c1310-1317, is a unique example of the Palaeologian Renaissance.
