Arrival of Prussian sailors at Versailles, 1871. The Franco-Prussian War. 'From Mr. Landells, our Special Artist at the Prussian head-quarters, Versailles, we have a sketch of the arrival of a number of German sailors, detached from the naval service, now that the Baltic is closed by frost, and sent as a reinforcement to the army beleaguering Paris. They were heartily welcomed by their countrymen of the land army'. From "Illustrated London News", 1871.
