The Beast from the Earth Killing People and People Receiving the Mark of the Beast; Dyson Perrins Apocalypse, about 1255-1260. Additional Info: From the margin of the page, Saint John turns to see people kneeling before the beast who stands regally before them. In the center, the creature with "horns like a lamb" faces left to slay with a huge scimitar those who will not worship the beast. The illuminator repeated the figure of this creature facing right, where it places its sign, the number 666, on the foreheads of those who remain after the slaying, that is, on those evil people who adore Satan's creation. The dark sword shape seen between the creature and the people is oxidized silver showing through from the other side of the page.
