The Third Angel and the Ban to Adore the Beast; Dyson Perrins Apocalypse, about 1255-1260. Additional Info: As Saint John watches, a third angel descends with a message of retribution: "If any man will have adored the beast and its image and received the mark on his forehead . . . he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God . . . and will be tormented with fire and sulphur in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torments will ascend for ever and ever. . . ." (Apocalypse 14:9-11) Below the angel, the beast's followers talk worriedly among themselves. Meanwhile, the Lamb stands behind with his banner as the smoke rises up to the angels in heaven.
