The Great Harlot of Babylon; Dyson Perrins Apocalypse, about 1255-1260. Additional Info: After the angels empty the seven vessels, one of them leads Saint John to see the great harlot. The artist chose to represent her as a beautiful young woman whose vanity is symbolized by the mirror she holds. She sits on wavy blue strands representing the "many waters" described in the text. John seems to be reluctant to look at the great harlot, as the angel tugs at his cloak, pulling him unwillingly toward her.
