Two Children, 1870. Portrait of Freddy Gould posing with an unidentified companion. The two children embrace, with Freddy resting his head on his companion's chest as he grabs a fist full of the cloth wrapped around him. Pioneering British photographer Julia Margaret Cameron is considered to be one of the most important portraitists of the 19th century. She took up photography at the age of 48, after her daughter gave her a camera as a present.
