Votive Head of a Young Man, 200-150 B.C. Additional Info: This hollow votive head is reconstructed from many fragments and several pieces are missing. On both the left and right side of the face, large triangular gaps occur from the lower jaw to the temples; the lower parts of both ears are also missing. Absent too are pieces from the lower left cheek as well as pieces from the top and back of the head. A small gap in the face has also been filled in. The face itself shows a young man with his hair brushed low onto his forehead in short wavy locks. The back of the head is modeled less carefully than the front with the hair indicated by long shallow grooves radiating from a central point.
