'General Gordon Approaching the City of Dara', c1900. 'A revolt at Darfur received at his hands prompt suppression, while the continued activities of the slave trade kept him ever on the move, and Suleiman, a notorious slaver, at the head of 6,000 men, moved down upon Dara.
