Grand Centrifugal Railway, 1842. 'On which a Carriage of nearly 200lbs., containing a Lady or Gentleman, descends an inclined plane, passing round a Vertical Circle of 40 feet, turning the head of the individual downwards and feet in the air; the carriage then descends the Circle, rises a second Inclined Plane, and lands the individual safe, at the rate of 100 miles an hour'. The 200-foot long 'Grand Centrifugal Railway' was on show as part of Dubourg's Wax Work exhibition on Great Windmill Street, close to Piccadilly in London.
